(62 News) – Sindh Theatre Festival organised by the Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Department of Sindh kicked off in Karachi this week.
Provincial Minister of Sindh for Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Archives, Syed Sardar Shah, inaugurated the festival. Fourteen plays will be presented during the festival, seven of which will be in Urdu and seven in Sindhi.
The first day’s theatrical show began with a play titled ‘Munkir’ written by Ahmed Mujtaba. The story, which focuses on violence against women in the confinement of their homes, is a tribute to the women who raised their voice against cruelty of the society and succeeded in getting their rights acknowledged.
